I hate the winter with the white-hot fury of a thousand suns. This winter is the WORST, isn’t it? The only good thing I can think of is that since Elena and Zoe are in daycare and not in school, the place where they spend their days has not been closed due to cold weather and I can still take them there.
(1) I haven’t been outside for more than 15 minutes in over a month. This makes me miserable.
(2) Conversely, Ben is outside for multiple hours almost every day of the week. This makes him miserable.
(3) I am so tired of boots, scarves, hats, gloves, blankets for three people every time I leave the house.
I used to get more depressed in the winter (I don’t know if it is to the level of SAD, but definitely some version of that) but since Elena’s birthday is in January, that’s actually helped a good bit – nothing to snap you out of a case of the blues like a good party planning. We have a few other family birthdays in January, so January USUALLY goes a little more quickly than it used to…but not this year. I can’t believe that it’s STILL January. This month just won’t die.
February is short but somehow it manages to be the most depressing month ever. So I don’t know why I’m excited to see the backend of January
First we forgot where we planted those bulbs last spring
Andthen we forgot that we planted at all
Then we forgot what plants were altogether
And I blamed you for my freezing and forgetting
AUUUUGUH WHEN WILL IT END.
